What's in my Make-up Bag

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

If you have acne-prone skin, it's critical you buy the right makeup. Trust me; I had to learn the hard way. I love the ability makeup & it can be a fantastic tool to use while your acne is healing. It can make you feel more comfortable in your skin without worrying about how your skin looks.

That being said, for makeup to help your skin heal, it should not irritate your skin further. That's the problem I ran into. I picked nontoxic beauty products as makeup can contain heavy metals & other harmful ingredients, which can lead to overburdened liver & hormonal imbalances. Therefore I picked clean beauty products thinking I was being safe & gentile to my skin. YET I did not know that most of these companies don't know how to formulate quality products. Most of these products have a ton of pore-clogging ingredients. The badly formulated products literally cause a reaction on my skin. My eyes would be swollen & my acne would just get more aggravated. It REALLY sucked because I didn't want to go outside without makeup, but I didn't have a choice, as my skin would get crazy itchy after application.

So I learned the hard way that just because the makeup is labelled clean beauty does not make it acne safe.

After doing my own research & learning from my mistakes, I found makeup products I could trust. Ones that are well-formulated and non-toxic.

In this video, I share with you my favourite makeup products that are safe for the body and won't break you out further.

Remember it is easier to prevent acne than reverse it.
